Dear friends and colleagues,
We would like to formally invite and welcome you to the 7th conference on the Diffusive Gradient in Thin-Films (DGT2023) being held in Paris, France 11-13 October 2023.
DGT2023 will bring together scientists and research students from various environmental science disciplines, spanning aquatic chemistry, sediment biogeochemistry and water body monitoring to soil science, rhizosphere research and agronomy. Since its invention, the Diffusive Gradients in Thin-films sampler, along with associated techniques, has evolved into a highly versatile tool to study solutes in a multitude of environments. The success of the technique is based on its simple, but very well-defined sampling strategy and a highly innovative and dedicated group of developers and users.
We believe that DGT2023 will provide a valuable opportunity to gather the DGT community together again after four years of waiting. This event will take place in the spacious auditorium of the Institut de Radioprotection et de Surêté Nucléaire (IRSN), located at Fontenay-aux-Roses, near Paris. IRSN is the French’s public expert in nuclear and radiation risks, and its activities cover all the related scientific and technical issues (for more information click here). Concerning the program, we propose a conference including six invited speakers, all expert in their domain, two poster forums to facilitate exchanges between participants, and numerous communications focused on the following theme sessions:
A) DGT fundamental and method advances;
B) Aquatic environments;
C) Sediments;
D) Soils and Plants;
E) Environmental Assessment and Legislation.
A gala dinner will be organized at Paris, in which you will taste typical French dishes and wines. We hope that We hope that many of you will register and enjoy DGT2023. Registration will be limited to 100 participants due to the capacity of the conference room.
Sincerely,
Dr. Josselin Gorny, Dr. Laureline Février and Prof. Hao Zhang
